Anne Gorman, a long-time resident of the Conservatory at Champions Forest passed away peacefully on September 26th. She was born February 28 1933, of Margaret and Edgar Wherry in Passaic, New Jersey. During her college years she attended Bucknell University and also the Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School in New York City. In her lifetime she lived in New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania, California, and Texas. Although she grew up in the northeast and raised her family in California, she has lived in this area since 1975.
In 1954 Anne married her college sweetheart, John Gorman, who she met in a public speaking class at Bucknell. They were married for almost 59 years until John passed away in 2012.
She loved sports, flute, piano, reading, playing bridge, walking and traveling with her husband all over the world, often on bird watching trips. Some of her trips included travel to China when it was first opened up for tourism and a river cruise through Russia. Also two of her most memorable adventures included hiking over 100 miles through Switzerland and the Alps with John and Mike, her son, and riding on horseback with John up to see the monarch butterfly migrations on a mountain of over 10,000 feet in Mexico.
Anne is survived by three children, five grand children and 11 great grandchildren.
