Annamma (Kunjanamma) Samuel was born on March 15, 1942 in Venmony to the family of Pulickal Thomas and Achama. She was the middle daughter to her parents, with an older sibling Mariama and a younger sibling Rachael. Her younger years were spent in the fields with her father, and swimming every day in the rivers close by.

After completing school, she briefly worked in Bilai, India. This was followed by her marriage to Alumootil Samuel in 1964. Subsequently they relocated to Bombay and she joined the Western railways. There she raised her three children, Shiju, Susan, and Shiney. While in Bombay she was actively involved with the New Life Fellowship church, and played a key role in many of the cell groups that were set up in that area. In addition to never missing a single day of prayer and worship, on Sundays she never missed a day of church. While in Bombay she regularly visited her parents, and sisters in Kerala and always stayed in touch with her relatives.

She moved with her husband to the United States, briefly lived in Los Angeles and then moved on to Chicago. While in Los Angeles, she briefly attended some college courses in Child Care Development, and Nutrition, an accomplishment she was always proud of. After relocating to Chicago she worked as a social worker, and mostly with child care agencies. She enjoyed working with little children and babies.

After retirement in 2009 they both relocated to from Chicago to Spring, Texas to be closer to their children. While in Spring they attended Believers Fellowship church, and were very close to members at that church. Anna was a regular participant in the women's ministry, mission trips to Belize and couples retreat. She seldom missed any Sunday or Wednesday church, except when she was very sick the last three months. On Fridays and whenever possible they also attended Tamina Church and had a fellowship with the Malayalam church. She was very close to her adopted children Monie and Vinod Skaria, and prayed for them every day.

Anna was known to be a prayer warrior, and her time of prayer was never less than two hours in the morning, and two hours in the evening. She prayed for everybody by name and covered each person I the precious blood of Jesus. Even as her condition gradually got worse, her attitude of prayer and thanksgiving never departed. Even when in pain she seldom expressed it, and never complained. She always asked us to go ahead and take care of the things we needed to, and never wanted to be a burden on anyone. She was very dear to her grandchildren, and always enjoyed the time they spent with her. Whenever possible she always attended all family weddings and events all over the United States and in India.

Annamma is survived by her husband of 54 years AV (Samuelkutty), her son Shiju and daughter in law Susan Samuel, Daughter Susan and husband Eric Wade, Daughter Shiney and Husband John Pereira, and grandchildren Alexa, Daphne, Darren, Schennel, Andrew, Joel and Avery. Her two siblings in India Mariamma and Husband Yohanan, and Rachael with Husband Pastor Sunnychan. She leaves behind nephews and nieces, I the United States and India.
