Obituary

Anna Louise Saizan Spires was born in Port Barre, Louisiana, on October 26, 1938, to Joseph 'Henry' Foley Saizan and Rosalie 'Beatrice' Milligan Saizan.

After graduating from Port Barre High School, Anna moved to Houston for employment and it was there that she would meet the love of her life, Dale O'Neil Spires.  Dale knew he wanted to marry Anna the first time he met her and it didn't take long for him to win her heart.  Dale and Anna married in 1960 and spent over 61 amazing years together, raising 3 children and traveling the world for his employment.  She was truly, his whole world.  God gave Anna the strength to fight numerous battles with cancer and overcome many medical issues throughout her life, but He knew she was tired and called her home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 29, 2021, in Cypress, Texas.  The memory of her strength, kindness, and unconditional love for her family will live in the hearts of all those privileged to know her.

Anna loved and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was privileged to see the birth of her first great-grand child, Atticus, in 2019, which was an incredible blessing in her life.  As an avid reader, Anna self-taught herself many things and excelled at two of her passions, cooking and gardening, becoming both, a 5 star chef and a master gardener.  Always and foremost in her life Anna was the consummate teacher.  She always guided and taught those around her.  For those that were fortunate enough to know her, they knew that she never met a stranger and always shared all she had.  She was a remarkable woman who will be missed by numerous friends and relatives.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Beatrice Saizan, her brother Pete Saizan and his wife Faye, her sister Marline Hardy and her husband Robert and nephew Robert Hardy Jr.

She is survived by her husband Dale Spires, son Stuart Spires, daughter Trinetta Anthony and husband Donnie, daughter Laura Spires, grandson Ryan Anthony and wife Candice, grandson Joshua Anthony, grandson Dillon Anthony and wife Olivia and great-grandson Atticus Anthony.

Although her home was in Texas, her heart never left the flowing bayous of St. Landry Parish Louisiana.
