Anna Sue Waldrep Meyer beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and dear friend passed into the loving arms of her Saviour, Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 16, 2021.

Born on September 30, 1943, in Levelland, Texas, she was the first born daughter of Earl Lee and Addie LaVerne Waldrep. Soon after her birth, the family moved to Lubbock, Texas, where her sister Durita Kay and brother Earl Lee Jr. were born. Anna's father was an 18 wheeler truck driver who often took Anna on trips with him thus starting her lifelong love of travel. Anna loved driving fast cars, eating with friends at the Zesto and anything that had to do with Elvis Presley. Anna graduated from Lubbock High School. She briefly attended Texas Tech University to study nursing.

Anna met the love of her life, Jimmy Meyer in 1962 and they were married on Valentine's Day, February 14,1964 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Posey, Texas. After Jimmy graduated from Texas Tech they took a job with the Texas Eastern Pipeline Company and moved to Shreveport, Louisiana. While living in Shreveport, their two daughters Angela Denise and Janice Dawn were born. They were members of First Lutheran Church of Shreveport. They made life-long friends with their next door neighbors and Anna took care of her girls and their home while Jimmy often had to travel around the world for work. Anna enjoyed ceramics, bible study and being involved with her girl's school as a homeroom mom.

In 1973, the family was transferred to Tustin, California which proved to be an adventure and a cherished time in their family life. Anna served on the Altar Guild at church and in the PTA and Girl Scouts while living in California. Anna enjoyed trips to the beach, mountains, Disneyland and supporting the California Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers baseball teams.

A transfer to Houston, Texas came in July of 1976. The family joined Kinsmen Lutheran Church where Anna served in many roles. She enjoyed helping with Altar Guild, serving on the church council, bible study and being a teller, greeter and welcome center host. Anna was a wonderful cook but was especially known for her homemade bread and award winning pies. Part of her ministry at Kinsmen was to organize the Communion Bread baking schedule.

Anna continued to support her girls in any of their endeavors which included yearbook, piano lessons, and most importantly the support of the Westfield High School Marching Band. Anna was a band mom who loved to sew flags, help with fund raisers and carried equipment onto the field for the band's performances at regional and national competitions. She loved her band kids and the band director and his family. She made many friends who remained close even after the girls graduated from high school. Anna helped organize the Excitement of Sound DCI Band Competition ticket sales for many years.

Anna and her neighbor Cathy owned an antiques company called Things Unlimited. When the girls were in high school and at college at Texas A&M University, Anna worked part-time as a merchandiser for American Greeting Cards. She and Jimmy also bought land in Acuff, Texas adjoining Jimmy's father's cotton farm. She was very proud of her fields of cotton.

In July of 1999, Anna and Jimmy moved to two and half acres in the High Meadow Ranch community in Magnolia, Texas. Once Jimmy retired they travelled to destinations like Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, Mexico, Cayman Islands and the Panama Canal. One of Anna's favorite places to visit was Las Vegas. While living in High Meadow Ranch, Anna became involved with Bunco, Reader's Club, Lunch Bunch and Canasta. She also continued with bible study and served for many years with Meals on Wheels which is a part of Northwest Assistance Ministries.

Anna always made friends wherever she went. You might be the person in the check out line at the grocery store or a neighbor. She loved making others happy and her home was always welcome and inviting and open to anyone. She loved NASCAR and enjoyed going to races in Las Vegas or with her daughter Janice to the Atlanta Motor Speedway. She was a big Astros Fan and attended many games. She and Jimmy continued as Members of Kinsmen Lutheran and could be found in their "spot" at early church on Sunday mornings and holding hands during the sermon. Their shared faith was the cornerstone of their marriage and carried them through times of trial and times of joy. Anna enjoyed sewing and often made wedding garters that she sewed and beaded by hand for special girls who were getting married.

Anna is preceded in death by her father and mother. She is also preceded in death by her grandparents, many dear friends, great aunts, and members of her church family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years and 10 months, Jimmy of Magnolia and daughters Angela and Janice of College Station. She is survived by her sister Durita Kay Cagle and brother Earl Lee Waldrep Jr both of Lubbock. Anna especially loved her four nieces and three nephews and their children. She is survived by her six cousins and their families. She was honored to be considered an honorary grandmother to many children who are now adults. It was always important to her to teach the children in her life the Lord's Prayer, 23rd Psalm and John 3:16. Her numerous friends from church, the High Meadow Ranch community, and many dear neighbors that have become family over the years will also be here to remember her as she makes a home in Heaven.

Her smile, gentle laugh, quick wit and warm heart will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 4-6 p.m. at Klein Memorial Funeral Home W. Main Street, Tomball, Texas 77355.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 22,2021 at 11 a.m. at Kinsmen Lutheran Church with a reception and luncheon that all are invited to attend.
