r heavenly home on July 25, 2016, in Cypress, Texas.
She
was born in Bal
timore, MD, on October 14, 1944, and
lived most of her childhood
and early adult life there.
After graduating from Notre Dame Prep , Ann used her love of math, passion for computers, and focused work ethic to pursue a long and successful career . Ann eventually worked in Richmond, Virginia, Houston, Texas, and Fairfax , Virginia, with Humble Oil which eventually became ExxonMobil. Along with excelling at work, Ann took on many responsibilities within several different organizations and churches: Extraordinary Minister of Communion, Finance Officer for the American Legion Post 5, Vice President of the HOA and Meals on Wheels in Rehoboth Beach, DE. It is through work that she met her soulmate , Tom Kolb. Choosing to marry him 48 years ago began a wonderful story that continues today through their amazing children and grandchildren. Their marriage has been one of faith, love, and unconditional support. Tom was by her side every minute when she needed him the most.
Ann dearly loved all her family, immediate and extended. H er nieces, Linda Shelley, Sandy Monigle, Jill White and Mary Roddy, were daughters to her and have always been extremely close. Her love for her two children, Maryann and T.J., showed no bounds. She worked tirelessly to provide them a road map for life with faith in God almighty and with love for others. She even relayed those same qualities into her support of her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. She could be seen yelling for them at the sidelines of various sporting events .
Even though it may seem that being dedicated to her faith, family, and work Ann would have no time for anything else, that certainly wasn't the case. She also loved being social in big ways. The Red Hat Society from Rehoboth Beach and the weekly games of B ridge and Mahjohg in both DE and SC were her on-going entertainment. Further, Ann had deep friendship s that w ere seen from the East Coast to Texas. She never met a stranger, and once you became a friend, it was for life. She had a knack for couponing, bargain shopping and planning wonderful get togethers with her life long friends. They were extremely important to her. As Ann battled her disease, her besties had a "Shave Party" with wine and laughter, which was just what the doctor ordered. It was incredible.
Ann is survived by her most loving husband of 48 years, Tom; two children, Maryann Mason and her husband David of Cypress, Texas. and T.J and his wife Jana, of Richmond, Texas; and five grandchildren, Luke, Natalie and Andrea Mason, and Makayla and Camden Kolb.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 31, at Klein Funeral Home - CyFair Northwest, 9719 Wortham Boulevard, Houston, TX 77065. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 1, at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 11507 Huffmeister Road, Houston, TX 77065.
