Ann Evans (age 84) was born in Paris, Texas, and lived in various places growing up. In Amarillo, Texas, she married, had three children, and got a divorce, moving to College Station and then to Spring, Texas. She was a member of the Klein Volunteer Fire Department, and retired working as a director of Greystone Montessori School. She moved to Buffalo, Texas, and then decided it was best to live between homes with her daughter in Arkansas (then Vegas) and her youngest son in Texas. This past year during the quarantine she decided to move in permanently with her youngest son, because travel had just become too tiring for her.

In all the places she has lived, she was always known to everyone as a kind, caring, and sweet lady. She made friends wherever she went, and as she got older, she became "mom" to everyone, whether it was her adult children's friends or colleagues – everyone took some small part in taking care of her and watching out for her.

She was an avid baker for much of her life, and even in the last few years baked desserts for fundraisers for her youngest son's dance team. She was known by family and friends for sending greeting cards for holidays and birthdays, and even recently was bothered that she hadn't been able to get out Christmas and Valentine cards and birthday cards for those with December and January birthdays. Being confined and restricted due to COVID meant not being able to shop as often for birthday cards, and that frustrated her.

This past year she had gone through a lot medically. She had triple bypass surgery August 31, and while the textbook surgery was something the operating doctor was proud of, the next month in the hospital was anything but textbook. She made it through home rehab and continued being tired but continued being mom – always saying I love you, wishing you safe travel, even if it was just to the store or work, and hugs upon returning. She tested positive for COVID and suffered from a fall on the morning of February 12. She hurt her right eye and abdomen on the right side, and as a result, she was transferred from ER to the hospital, finally being admitted to a room on Saturday, February 13. They released her that evening, and she spent the remaining two days at home, until she passed away early Tuesday morning, February 16, 2021.

Mom always raised us to live life with love, happiness, smiles, and hugs. She role modeled that to her last day. So, while we mourn her passing, we celebrate her life with her friends, her family, and our friends, by celebrating with love, happiness, smiles, and hugs, because that is how mom lived her life, and that's how she would want us to remember her by.

Ann is survived by her daughter, Kathy Evans; sons Wayne Evans, and Mark Evans; grandchildren, Jason Moreland and wife Tory, and Eric Moreland and wife Dawn; great grandsons, Hunter Moreland, Hayden Moreland, Wyatt Moreland, and Marshall Moreland; and sisters, Judy Burch, and Robbie Thomas.
