Anita Louise Westbrook, 82, passed away July 29th, 2024 after complications of Alzheimer's Disease. She was born in Pasadena, Texas on June 6th,1942 to parents, Meredith Carroll and Mae Louise (Smethers) Carroll. She lived most of her life in Houston, Texas and a few years in Weatherford, Texas where a lot of her family called home.

Anita married Charles Edward Westbrook, Sr. on August 7th, 1959. Together, they built a beautiful family and life for over 43 years until he passed away in 2002.  They resided and raised their family in Houston. She was a bookkeeper and in later years the office manager and bookkeeper for Charles' General Contractor business. They enjoyed many weekends and holidays with their children, grandchildren and extended family at their farm in East Texas.

Anita is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Charles Edward Westbrook, Sr., her parents Meredith and Louise Carroll, brothers Sonny and Doug Carroll, sister Charlene Lowry, brothers in law Ray and Sammy Westbrook, Kevin Lowry and sister-in-law, Mary Westbrook.  Her father and mother- in- law, Winfred and Gladys Westbrook.  She is survived by her devoted children, Charlotte Atkinson and husband Tommy, Charles (Bubba) Westbrook, Jr., and wife Michelle, loving grandchildren, Jennifer Mick and husband Justin, Jake Atkinson and wife Katy, Sarah Westbrook, and Charlie Westbrook III, cherished great-grandchildren, Jackson, Max and Reese Mick, Tyler Atkinson, Rex and Tag Campbell. Her brother-in-law, Richard Westbrook and sister- in-law Linda Westbrook, numerous nieces and nephews

Throughout her life, Anita found purpose as a caregiver to family members who depended on her and she was always willing to help. She loved her constant companion of 16 years, Annie, her beloved dachshund.  She was a wonderful cook, and her family enjoyed many Sunday dinners at her house. Some favorites were her chicken and dumplings, chicken and rice, cornbread dressing, peach cobbler, even her sweet tea was the best. The grandkids loved spending weekends with her here in Houston or in the country at the farm. She loved to search antique shops on weekends and adding to her many collections. She was creative and enjoyed writing heartfelt poems for her loved ones to cherish. She enjoyed her morning coffee and crossword puzzle. Anita was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, where she enjoyed her Sunday school class friends and participating in fellowship activities.

The family invites friends to join us for visitation at 9:00 am, Monday, August 5, 2024 at Klein Funeral Home Champions, 16131 Champion Forest Dr., Spring, TX.  Funeral services to follow at 10:00 am. Graveside and Interment to follow at Hill Cemetery, Kennard, TX at 2:00 pm. Brother Shannon Talley officiating funeral services in Houston and Reverend Terry Gibson officiating at graveside at Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jake Atkinson, Charlie Westbrook, Justin Mick, and nephews, Wayne Lowry, Larry Westbrook, David Westbrook, Greg Westbrook and Jason Westbrook.
