Obituary

ANITA MARIE SIROIS

Born October 7, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York

Passed away May 20, 2024 in Spring, Texas

Age 89

Mom was very proud of her New York roots and Irish heritage. She had many cousins, aunts and uncles there that she adored. When she was about ten, her family moved to Denver, Colorado. It was a difficult transition and she missed her New York family very much. She went to St. Francis De Sales High School and was quite popular! After graduation, she worked for Public Service Company and did some modeling.

She married my dad in 1956 and I came along in 1957. My sister Christina Ann was born in 1959 and passed away in 1960. She of course was devastated. My dad worked for Shell Oil and we were transferred to California, New Jersey and then Texas. She made good friends everywhere that we lived. Mom was a wonderful cook, decorator and always very fashionably dressed! She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola parish for over 40 years.

She met the love of her life in 1974; mom and Lionel were soul mates and they married on New Years Day in 1978. They enjoyed traveling to Europe and all around the U.S. Mom was a wonderful entertainer and she and Lionel hosted many a dinner party and holidays. They enjoyed 41 years of marriage upon Lionel's passing in 2019.

The last two years have been difficult for mom as her health declined. She persevered, never really complained and still brought joy to everyone that she encountered. She loved her family, brought laughter and joy to every occasion and could light up a room with her presence. She was affectionately known as Tata to Stephi and her friends. Mom was my best friend, she was kind and beautiful and we helped each other through some tough times.

Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel James Sirois, daughter Christina Ann, parents, James and Margaret McNeive and sister Bonne' Taylor.

She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Mausser (Robert), granddaughter Stephanie Messina (Daniel), step grandsons Beau Sirois (Lacey) and their daughters Tatum and Ember Jewel, Ryan Sirois, Wyatt Sirois, brother-in-law Don Taylor, nephew Scott Taylor (Hadley) and grandnephew Mathew Taylor.
