Andrew Thomas Prokop, age 58, passed away early Friday, October 20, 2017 surrounded by his family in Houston, TX.

Andrew is survived by his wife Melanie McCay Prokop, and three children: Michael, Elizabeth, and Charles. He is also survived by his father, Benjamin Prokop, his brother Christopher Prokop & wife Cindy, his brother Patrick Prokop & wife Carol, his sister Carol Poston & husband David, and brother-in-law Jack Cooper. He is preceded in death by his sister Patricia Cooper and mother Hedwig Prokop.

He was born May 4, 1959 in Pasadena, TX and resided in Houston, TX the majority of his life. Andrew attended St Thomas More and then Westbury High School (Class of 1977) where he swam on the swim team. He also enjoyed playing soccer and was the Scout Master for his son Michael's Boy Scout Troop #1453.

Andrew loved the outdoors and treasured every chance he had to ride his bike, camp with his family, and take long hikes with his dogs. He also enjoyed having family cookouts and taking trips to the beach.

A Visitation with Family & Friends will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 7-9 PM at Klein Funeral Home at 9719 Wortham Blvd, Houston, TX 77065. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Christ the Redeemer Church at 11507 Huffmeister Rd, Houston, TX 77065. A Reception following Mass will be held at the home of Chris Prokop.
