Andrew Douglas Moses, passed away peacefully with his daughters by his side on August 18, 2023, at the age of 91, in Magnolia, Texas. Andy was born in San Antonio, Texas, on August 12, 1932, to Robert Lewis and Oneta Harrell Moses. His family moved to New Mexico where Andy graduated from Las Cruces High School. On August 16, 1951 he married Emma Jane Montgomery who he referred to, "as the prettiest girl in school".

Andy received a bachelor's degree from New Mexico A&M University and a Masters from the University of Wyoming. He made a positive impact on many young people's lives during his 35 years in public education as a high school superintendent, principal, math teacher, and coach. His love for all sports lasted his entire life and he participated well into his 70's. National Senior Olympics awarded him 1st place in Tennis at age 75. Andy leaves his grand children with wonderful memories of games, stories and laughter.

Andy served in the Air Force, both on active duty and the Reserves for 30 years and retired as Lieutenant Colonel of the Air Force Reserves. Andy stayed active in the community; a Deacon and Sunday school teacher of the Methodist Church, a Past Master Mason and life long member of the Masonic lodge, and a member of the Lions Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jane, the love of his life of 63 years, his parents, his brothers, David Martin Moses, and Robert Lewis Moses Jr and great granddaughter Shayla Tafoya. He is survived by his daughters, Donna Oney and husband, Monty, of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, and Melody Shoemaker and husband, Bryan, of Magnolia, Texas, seven grandchildren: Saunja Gelvin, Cindy Hoefs, Aleta Muniz, Dustin Shoemaker, Anthony Oney, Jacob Oney and Landis Shoemaker, 19 great-grandchildren: Felicia and Joshua Tafoya, Brandon, Austin, Landyn and Kaid Muniz, Andrea, Preston, Avery, Alayna, Parker and Pax Shoemaker, Leia and Kinley Oney, Olivia and Johnathan Oney and Natalia and Darwin Shoemaker and 3 great, great- grandchildren: Nailanni and Nico Tafoya and Sophia Muniz. A memorial service will be held at a later date in San Antonio, Texas.
