Andrew Mitchell Gates, 37, of Tomball, Texas, passed away July 20th, 2023.  Andy was born January 4th, 1986, in Aurora, Colorado to Steven and Sandra (Johnson) Gates. Andy lived most of his life in Salt Lake City, Utah where he eventually met his wife, Andrea and they created a life together.

Andy is survived by his loving wife, Andrea Gates and his amazing children, Zander Gates and Olivia Gates. His sisters, Tiffany (Daryl) Huggard, Amy (Greg) Sill, Jill (Jeremy) Smith, Gina (Ryan) Carter, Holly Gates, and Wendi Gates; Brother, Jeremy (Heather) Gates; Parents, Steven and Sandra Gates. As well as many nieces and nephews.

Andy is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents as well as his infant son, Maxwell Gates.

Andy was first and foremost a loving Husband and Father. His family was his whole world. He fought every day to protect them and be able to stay here with them. He never went to bed without saying "I love you." to his wife. For Andy, spending time outside as a family was a priority. He loved fishing, hunting, golfing, and any other sport you could think of. He was an avid Utah Utes Football fan who passed that obsession on to his son. Andy and Zander were involved in multiple sports together. He loved coaching and teaching him, but most of all Andy was his biggest support and fan. Daddy will be right beside you always, Buddy. He loved his silly, strong-willed little Girl. Andy and Livi would see who could be the goofiest by the dances they danced or the songs they made up. He would be in the front row holding flowers at Livi's dance recitals or cheer performances. Livi Lu had her Daddy wrapped around her little finger.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, August 3rd, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints, 9525 Spring Cypress Rd, Spring, Texas 77379.  Funeral Services will be held immediately following at 11:00 AM with Bishop Ben Dana officiating. Private Graveside Services to follow in Klein Memorial Park.
