Andrew Christopher Arfele was born on January 26, 1985, in Lafayette, Louisiana, and passed away peacefully at his home in Spring, Texas, on June 4, 2026.

Andrew was a devoted son whose intelligence, resilience, and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone who knew him. His legacy of courage and determination will continue to inspire those who loved him.

A graduate of Klein Oak High School's Class of 2003, Andrew was passionate about learning and possessed an extraordinary intellect. He later attended Lone Star College, where he earned a certificate in Information Technology in 2010, and continued his education at Stephen F. Austin State University. Although his lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis prevented him from completing his degree, it never diminished his love of knowledge or his determination to learn. Andrew worked tirelessly toward his educational goals, demonstrating remarkable perseverance despite the physical challenges he faced.

Andrew was exceptionally intelligent, with an analytical mind, a photographic memory, and an IQ approaching 130. From an early age, his teachers, physicians, and the adults around him recognized a maturity well beyond his years. Living with cystic fibrosis required Andrew to understand complex medical issues at a young age, and he became an active participant in his own care, often engaging in thoughtful, informed conversations with his doctors.

Because much of his life was spent in hospitals or managing his health, Andrew found joy in hobbies that kept both his mind and spirit engaged. He was an avid gamer, an enthusiastic reader, and loved analyzing ideas and learning new things. He was also a devoted sports enthusiast and an avid sports card collector. While his illness prevented him from participating in athletics, his passion for sports never wavered. He possessed an incredible knowledge of teams, players, statistics, and history across virtually every sport. Some of Andrew's happiest moments were spent alongside his father watching games, discussing sports, and adding to their treasured card collection together.

Andrew's life was defined not by the limitations of cystic fibrosis, but by the strength, resilience, and determination with which he faced it. Despite countless hospital stays and physical obstacles, he never allowed his illness to define who he was. His unwavering spirit, brilliant mind, quiet determination, and enduring love for learning inspired those who knew him. He met life's challenges with courage and grace, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance and strength.

Though his time with us was far too short, Andrew's remarkable intelligence, kind heart, and resilient spirit will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.

He is survived by his loving parents, Anthony Thomas Arfele and Robin Rea Arfele; his aunt, Kris Gonzales; his uncle, Johnny Gonzales; his cousins, Jonathan Gonzales and his wife Jeannine, Keslie Gonzales, and Kallie Bolling and her husband Chase; as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Family and friends are invited to join the Arfele family for the placement of Andrew's urn at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Klein Memorial Park, 9714 Farm to Market 2920, Tomball, Texas 77375. The family welcomes all who knew and loved Andrew to gather in remembrance.
