Andrew David "Andy" Finney, lovingly known by many as "Toolman," passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025, at the age of 65.
Born on December 23, 1959, Andy was a man defined by his kindness, quick wit, and unwavering devotion to family and community. Andy approached life with a spirit of excellence and compassion and had a knack for fixing just about anything.
Andy proudly served in the United States Navy, carrying his dedication and discipline from service into every part of his life.
His passions included, wood working, riding motorcycles, helping with charity events, and serving as Campmaster in the Boy Scouts. Andy built a life full of service, laughter, and genuine connection.
Andy was the heart of his family. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Finney; son David Finney; daughter Shari Cagle and her husband Jason; his beloved grandchildren: Brooke Cagle, Gavin Finney, Emma Cagle, Sarah Cagle, Amos (Finney) Sanden, Wyatt Finney, and Molly Cagle, who brought him endless joy and pride. He was the proudest "Grandpa" and never missed a chance to celebrate their accomplishments or just hear about their day.
He is also survived by his sister Rebecca Davis (Drew), brother Darin Haberman (Cheri), sister Helen Pilcher (James), along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Finney and Marvel Davis; his sister Debra Finney; and his former wife, Karen Franks.
Those who knew Andy knew a man who was a creative, supportive, and hands-on dad.
Andy's garage still holds the echoes of laughter, lots of blood sweat and tears, and probably more tools than most hardware stores — each one a reminder of a life lived fully, joyfully, and with so much love.
A celebration of Andy's life will be held on April 30, 2025 at Klein Funeral Home CyFair-Northwest. Viewing begins at 9:00 AM, with a service to follow at 10:00 AM. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 12:45 PM at Houston National Cemetery.
He built more than just projects — he built people, memories, and a legacy that will live on in everyone lucky enough to have known him.
