Obituary

Ana Hilda Lopez, of Houston, Texas, passed away on August 29, 2022, following a courageous cancer battle. She was 72 years old. Ana was born January 21, 1950, in Brooklyn, New York where she met her lifelong love, Fred Lopez. The two were married for 54 years.

Ana attended Central Commercial High School and later studied accounting in college, which led to an accounting career beginning with Coopers & Lybrand in New York City. She retired from the Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in Houston, Texas.

Ana was a generous, selfless and devoted caregiver. She always offered a welcoming seat at the dinner table and often opened her home to friends and family in need. In addition to her three children and four grandchildren, Ana had a profound influence in the lives of her many dear friends and extended family members including her lovely nieces, and their many beautiful children.

In addition to her husband, Fred, she is survived by her children, Denise Hays, Freddy Jr. Lopez and Mark Lopez; her sisters, Socorro Lara and Lucille Velasquez; her grandchildren Richard Kawas, Kenneth Scott, Alicia Lopez and Shay Lopez; and her special nieces, Sandy Kuczynski, Angelic Charles, Maria DeForrest, Jessika Velazquez and Xiomara Fulp.

Husband, Fred Lopez; Sisters, Socorro Lara and husband Armando, Lucille Velasquez, Brother, Michael Velasquez and wife Rosa (both deceased).

Children, Denise Hays and husband Brian, Freddy Jr. Lopez and wife Shannon, Mark Lopez and wife Jennifer. Grandchildren, Richard Kawas,

Kenneth Scott, Alicia Lopez and Shay Lopez. Nieces, Sandy Kuczynski and husband Eric, Angelic Charles and husband Jason, Maria DeForrest and husband Jason, Jessika Velazquez, Xiomara Fulp and husband Rich.

Grandnieces & grandnephews, Amalia, Mason, Noah, Roman, Maverick, Harley, Christian, Alex and Zoe.
