Amy Elayne (Cox) Regan, age 55, passed away on April 16th, 2018.

Born on December 14th, 1962 in Waco, Texas, Amy was the middle of three children born to Kay LaVon "Bucky" Cox and Nancy Lee (Ruhge) Cox. Her Dad was a revered High School football coach, and the family followed his career to Galena Park, then to McAllen, and finally back to Waco where she graduated from Richfield High School in 1981.

She began her college career at McLennan Community College and earned her Bachelor's in Business Analysis from Texas A&M in 1986. In 1987, she married and began her career.

In 1993, her daughter Lydia Lee Garbee was born, followed by son Garrett Vaughn Garbee in 1994, and Brendon Thomas Garbee in 1998.

After a 26-year first marriage, Amy remarried in 2015 to Tom Regan. The couple lived in the Houston area and attended Champion Forest Baptist Church.

During her last years Amy worked as the office manager for Colorful Environments. She also co-owned and supported her husband's business, Castle Doors & More.

Amy is survived by her husband, Tom Regan, her children, Lydia Lee Garbee, Garrett Vaughn Garbee, and Brendon Thomas Garbee, her sister Lori Lee Cox and her brother Greg Cox, and her mother Nancy Lee Cox, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Kay LaVon Cox.

Legacy

Amy will long be remembered as a loving and gentle woman. She never had malice toward anyone, always choosing to see the good in people. Her faith in Christ enabled her to endure difficulties in life without ever becoming bitter or angry. Her favorite scripture was Philippians 4:13, "For I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Amy's foremost desire was always to take care of her family. As a wife, she was incredibly giving, supportive, and loving. Meanwhile, she always strove to keep peace in the home, and to create good memories for her children. She loved hosting the extended family and guests over the Holidays, as well as planning special birthdays.

Amy never aimed to be the center of attention, had no vanity, and always put others before herself. She was utterly faithful in all things and lived a life of integrity. She was also fond of the Love Chapter of 1 Corinthians 13, and accordingly, she lived a life of loving others.

She will be greatly missed, not just for all that she did for the people in her life, but also for the beautiful smile that never failed to warm the hearts of those who saw it. In this life, she never fully received in return the love that she so richly shared, but may she now rest in peace, receiving God's perfect love for all eternity.
