Amier Baraka Gantt was born to Lucious and Anna (Burks) Gantt in Austin, Texas on August 25, 1971. He was a man of honor, dedicated husband & father and beloved son & brother. Amier served his country & community as a proud U.S. Marine and Texas State Trooper. He was an accomplished sportsman – excelling in cross country, track and soccer (playing in France, Belgium & Germany in his senior year). But he most enjoyed playing chess with Kaiya, basketball & archery with Amaya, and toy cars with Quentin.

He leaves to cherish his memories: (parents) Lucious and Anna (Burks) Gantt; (wife) Kimberly (Hodges) Gantt, (children) Kaiya Gantt, Amaya Gantt, Quentin Gantt; (siblings) Ishmael Gantt (Hanae), Bakori Gantt, Sr. (Nakia); along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family & friends.
