It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Amanda White, 62, on Thursday, December 2, 2021.  She joined her heavenly father while at her home in Pinehurst, Texas in the presence of her loving husband.  She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 29.  She fought a long hard battle and faced her foe with grace, courage, and dignity.  She spent the last few years seriously battling this implacable disease.

Amanda Carol was born in Houston, Texas, on December 4, 1958, to Fred Lyle Tann and Jewell ElizabethTucker Tann.  She attended local schools and was a graduate of Aldine High School in 1977.

Amanda married Garland White on January 21, 1978.  They were married for 43 years and raised two children, Justin White-39 and Deanne Sampson-37. She was totally dedicated to her children in all aspects of their lives and will continue to influence them. She worked for Harris County Sheriff's Office for 32 years in the Criminal Warrants Division and cherished all her colleagues. Many said she was the "go-to" person, a wealth of information, the oracle on fugitive extradition, funny, happy, and bright.  She took great pleasure in her job and her colleagues.  She loved attending family functions and whole-heartedly looked forward to their annual Frio River trip with many friends and family.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her entire family: her husband, two children, soon-to-be daughter-in-law Danielle Cochran, son-in-law Johnny Sampson, as well as her six grandchildren: Kayla and Shae Annis, Emily White, Kennedy Cochran, Dalton and Colton Sampson. Other surviving family members include her mother, Jewell Tucker Tann, brother Kenneth Tann, sister-in-law Margaret Tann, sister Elizabeth Frisby, brother-in-law Kevin Frisby, youngest brother Warren Tann, sister-in-law Gloria Tann, mother-in-law Avon White, brother-in-law Duane White, sister-in-law Paula White, brother-in-law Kelly White, sister-in-law Glynda White, and many nieces and nephews.

Amanda is preceded in death by her father, Fred Lyle Tann, father-in-law Jack White, and daughter Tanna White.

The memorial service will be held on Monday, December 20, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Champion Forest Baptist Church's Chapel at 15555 Stuebner Airline Rd, Houston, Texas 77069 .  A reception will be held immediately following the service.
