Alvina Rosie Kainer was born on January 27, 1919 to Emil and Annie Kainer in Sagerton, Texas, their third child and first daughter. She attended local schools until Annie became ill and Alvina left school in her high school freshmen year to attend to her mother. In succeeding years she supported herself through various employ until in her early 20's she graduated from beautician school and became a hair dresser, eventually owning her own shop. On January 16, 1943, in Abilene, Texas, she married Roland Alfred Rinn, at the time a cadet in the Navy flight training program. The couple had three sons. Over the years the couple lived in various places due to Roland's employment and in each location Alvina was active in church and community affairs: altar guild, scout den mother, homeroom parent, heart association volunteer and helpful neighbor. She was an attentive mother, loving wife and gracious neighbor. Alvina and Roland celebrated 78 years of marriage. Alvina died on November 18 and Roland died the following night. She is survived by sons Ronald (Cinde) Rinn of Advance, NC, Chuck (Linda) Rinn of Magnolia, TX, and Gary (Diane) Rinn of Freeport, TX; nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews; as well as sister Meta Kupatt of Stamford TX. She and Roland will be interred in the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
