Mr. Alumootil Varghese Samuel, was born to Mr. Avira Varghese and
Mrs. Achamma Varghese in Mavelikara Kerala, India on May 7th, 1937.
He was the youngest in his family of 12 children, he had 8 brothers and
4 sisters, and was raised by them after his mother passed away shortly
after his birth. Then on April 27th, 1964 he was married to the love of his
life, Ms. Annamma Thomas, and were blessed with three children,
Shiju, Susan and Shiney. He worked for the Indian Railway in Bombay
for several years until 1994. During that time Mr. and Mrs. Samuel
accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior and were baptized. Mr. Samuel
became a respected elder of New Life Fellowship Church and tirelessly
served the Lord with Mrs. Samuel by witnessing to his community and
hosting prayer meetings in their home. Mr. Samuel always had a kind
heart and was ready to help those around him, whether it was relatives
or friends he was always prepared to lend a helping hand. During this
time Mr. & Mrs. Samuel were blessed with seven grandchildren whom
they endlessly loved and prayed for. When Mr. & Mrs. Samuel moved to
America they lived in Chicago for several years. Their calling to serve
the Lord led them to be active members of Sharon Fellowship Church.
In 2009 they moved to Houston to be closer to their son and daughter.
While they lived there, they were active members of Believers
Fellowship Church. Mrs. Samuel then went to be with the Lord on
October 9th, 2018, this time was tremendously hard for the family and
especially Mr. Samuel. He missed her companionship immensely and
felt very lonely without her. During this time his memory started to
fade, but he always talked about his memories with his favorite person,
Mrs. Samuel. Unfortunately, his health took a decline in December
2022, and his condition did not improve, and on February 6th at 11:24
pm, he took his last breath while he slept, in the arms of his son Mr.
Shiju Samuel and daughter Mrs. Shiney Pereira and their spouses.
Our dad was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was greatly
loved and cherished by his family, relatives, friends and all those whom
he came across. We would like to give our endless thanks and
appreciation to everyone involved in taking care of dad, especially
while his condition was declining. And our heartfelt gratitude to Ms.
Megan Humpries, who worked tirelessly around the clock to take care
of our beloved dad. We would like to also give our special thanks to all
the family members who participated in his care. God bless you all.
