Alta Alice Wuensche went to be with her heavenly father on August 3, 2026. She was born in Ashland, Alabama on May 13,1941 to the late Tolley Jackson Smith Sr. and Avie Belle Smith. She graduated from Talladega High School and moved to Spring, Texas where she met her husband, Leon, at a local hangout. They quickly fell in love and were married on December 5, 1959.
Alice and Leon were faithfully married for almost 65 years. Together they had 4 children, and they spent their days growing vegetables on their family farm. She also worked in various roles for Klein ISD for many years. She loved to cook and spend time with her family, always providing a warm and loving home. She spent many evenings and summer days nurturing her grandchildren and teaching them about life on the farm. She regularly attended church, loved sharing her faith, and proclaiming Jesus's love.
She is preceded in death by her husband Leon; mother and father; brothers Jack Gordon, Tolley Jr. ("Junior"), and Jack; sisters Sara, Olivia, Della, Jo Anne, and Dorothy; and son-in-law Al. She is survived by her sister-in-law Gerte, her daughter Teresa, her son Tim and daughter-in-law Shanna, her son Bill and partner Craig, her son Bobby and daughter-in-law Avis, 13 grandchildren (Stacie, Brittany, Ashley, Amber, Joshua, Joseph, Hannah, Tabitha, Tiffany, Jordan, Abigail, Jonathan, Michaela) and 14 great-grandchildren (Kaydence & Lylah, Piper & Avery, Kalen & Brooklyn, Sutton & Saige, Presley, Beckham, & Tatum, Zoey, Thomas & Esme).
Mom, Grandma was the most caring, loving, and giving matriarch of our family. She spent her life caring for others, and she will be greatly missed. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy that has been instilled in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is no longer suffering in this world but is now rejoicing with her heavenly father.
