Alta Clark Griffith of Houston, Texas passed away August 20, 2022. She was born on November 5, 1938 in Houston, Texas to the late David Clark and Hazel Terry.

Alta was married to the late Billy Richard Griffith for fifty-two years. Marriage came with a ready-made family of six children. Alta at twenty-six endured many challenges of raising her children. We as the six children appreciated and honored our mother for all of her hard work and the good life that she provided. We were very excited to enter and grow with Alta's large family. Alta was the Foley's baby in all their ads in the Houston Chronicle the first 2 years of her life. Alta worked many years at Prudential Insurance Company, and moved on to being a bookkeeper at W.R Watson, Inc. She was a member of Autumn Creek Baptist Church. She worked with the children in Awanas. She loved to sing and enjoyed helping others. Alta had a very rich and rewarding life and will be missed by everyone who had the privilege to know her. Alta is walking in heaven with Billy and her family and friends who proceeded her. Alta is smiling down on all of us.

Alta children: Billie Musselwhite (deceased) husband Michael, Donna Griffith, Kathy Odgen and husband James, Alta Hardy and husband Bill, Deady Ortego and husband James and Thomas Griffith (deceased) and wife Gina. Alta sisters were Barbara Hutchinson and husband Hutch (deceased) and Judith Norris and husband Bob, and Patricia Sanders (deceased). Grandchildren: Jimmy, Marie (deceased), Billy Allen, Jessica, Jamie, Krystal, Martin, Jennifer, Lara, and Ellen. Great-grandchildren: Lexi, Dominick, Zoie, Tori, Kaitlyn, Jasmine, Madelyn, David and Marc.
