Almetta was born in Houston, Tx to H. B. Harris and Ruth E. Harris. She was proceeded in death by both parents, her husband Eddie Beeman and 2 brothers Merc and Warren (Duke) Harris.

She is survived by 3 daughters: Barbara Robinson and her husband Kenny West, Paula Scott and Debbie Scott. 3 Granddaughters, Whitney Dorman and Her Husband Michael Dorman, Melissa Cobb and her husband C.J. Cobb and Lydia Scott. Also by 3 great grandchildren, Blake Dorman, Abigail Cobb and Kathryn Cobb.

She retired from Amegy bank in 2006 and was baptized at Lakewood Church in 2013.

She will be remembered for a great sense of humor. She loved to make people laugh. She often insisted that her headstone should read "See I told you I was sick".

She spoke slowly and with a pounced Texas accent and that often caused people to underestimate her. That didn't stop her from beating everyone in the house at Trivia Pursuit.

She was loved and will be missed by many.
