Alma Jean McKee, lovingly known to family and friends as Jean, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2026, at the age of 76.

Jean was born on November 5, 1949, in San Angelo, Texas, to Judson and Alma (Stovall) Dorris. She grew up appreciating life's simple pleasures, a value she carried with her throughout her years. Jean found joy in listening to country music, creating ceramic figurines, and quilting pastimes that reflected her creativity, patience, and warmth. She also loved walking her beloved dog Dakota through the neighborhood taking long walks and meeting her neighbors.

On April 8, 1978, Jean married the love of her life, Ricky McKee. Together, they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, family, and devotion.

Jean was preceded in death by her father, Judson Dorris; her grandson, Christopher Reid; and her brothers, Jimmy Dorris, David Bates, and Ricky Bates.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ricky McKee; mother Alma Stothers; her daughters, Teresa Reid and Cindy Forsythe (Braden); her cherished grandchildren, Justin Reid (Kiersten), Jordyn Ashmore (Kyle), and Sarah Sherrod (Steele); and her beloved great-grandchildren, Stella Reid and Tripp Ashmore. She is also survived by her brothers, Johnny Bates and Robbie Dorris, and her sisters, Donna Fisher (Rodney) and Carolyn Colvin.

Jean will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love for her family, and the quiet happiness she found in the everyday moments of life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
