Obituary

Allen Herman Ulrich was born on August 10, 1934 to Lydia Otillia "Tillie" Hildebrandt Ulrich and Herman Ulrich.  He was born in the farmhouse that his grandparents, August and Marie Pfefferkusz Ulrich, built on the family farm in approximately 1905 in the community of Klein, Texas.  Allen attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Klein High School.  Allen was a voracious reader and life-long learner who enjoyed reading and learning about geography, physics, chemistry and medicine.  Allen loved to share his knowledge with his family.  Allen loved to travel and visited many locations including Canada, Hawaii, Yellowstone National Park, Florida, and the East Coast.

Allen grew up helping his dad on the family farm, where they grew hay and vegetables and later operated a small dairy.  After the dairy ceased operations in the early 80's, Allen worked in maintenance for Harris County Precinct 3 Road and Bridge Operations until he retired in the mid-90's.  After retirement from the Harris County, Allen continued to live on and maintain the family farm.

Allen was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Klein, Texas.  He was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran Church.  His maternal great-grandparents were founding members of Trinity Lutheran Church in 1874, and his great-grandfather Johann Heinrich (Henry) Kaiser donated the initial plot of land for what would become Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in 1875.  Allen attended church and Sunday school regularly until the COVID pandemic, and he had an unshakeable faith in His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Allen was very proud of his deep roots and family heritage in the Klein community.

Although Allen was a life-long bachelor, he enjoyed spending time with his extended family that included his sisters, Gladys Ulrich Krueger and Grace Ulrich Jones, and their families.  He was a kind, generous uncle that was very loved by his six nieces and nephew and their families.  Allen also leaves behind numerous relatives and friends, including the staff at Luby's, where he enjoyed eating lunch for many years.
