Allen Clyde Duke, Sr. – Born July 21, 1933 and passed away peacefully on December 28, 2019 at his home with his loving wife, Barbara Duke by his side. Allen was predeceased by his daughter Cheryl Duke, his grandson Eric Greene, his first wife of 40 years Billie Duke, his brother Tommy Duke and both of his parents. Allen is survived by his wife of 21 years, Barbara Duke; children, Deborah Baldwin and her husband, Billy Baldwin; Sandra Jordan and her husband, Stanford Jordan; Cathy Whitlock and her husband, Barry Whitlock; and his only son, Allen Duke, Jr. and his wife Jacqui Duke; Step-children Stephanie Barklage and her husband Joshua; and Chad Urso and his wife Kelley. He has numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Allen spent twenty years in the U.S. Air Force as a boom operator with the Strategic Air Command. After retiring, Allen returned to the Houston area and worked in the financial industry until his retirement when he was finally able to follow his dreams of becoming a cattle rancher.
Allen's dry sense of humor will be sorely missed. He was an inspiration to many and loved to tell tales of his childhood.
The service will be Friday, January 3, 2020 at 10:00 am at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
As no flowers are allowed at the service, donations can be made to the
Wounded Warrior Project or Camp Peniel.
