Aljoša (Al) Memovic untimely passed away on May 17, 2016, he was 29 years old.

Aljoša was born in Trebinje, Bosnia to loving parents, Sado and Maja Memovic, on December 8, 1986. He moved to Houston, Texas in 1995 with his parents and younger sister, Andrea Memovic. Aljoša was raised in a home filled with love, joy, and laughter. He was always surrounded by a clan of Bosnians and Serbians that were like family, and a tight knit group of great friends. Aljoša was a caring and devoted son, older brother, parent to his dog Apollo, nephew, cousin, grandson, colleague, and friend. He will be greatly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten by all who were blessed enough to know him.

Aljoša was a jack of all trades. While attending Jersey Village High School, he played football (American football that is), ran track, wrestled, and made a one-time appearance as Cyclops in Homer's Odyssey. After graduating from high school, he became a certified emergency medical technician and worked as a paramedic while attending college at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. When he was home for the summers, he worked as an EMT for the City of Jersey Village Fire Department. Aljoša graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor's degree in Biology.

Aljoša had no enemies, every person he met became an instant friend. He had an inviting glow that made strangers feel welcome, safe, and understood. Friendships came easy to Aljoša because he had a true and deep love for people. His favorite things in life were a cold beer and a room full of great friends. He was intelligent, hardworking, kind, generous, and could always make you laugh, whether you wanted to laugh or not. As a certified paramedic he dedicated years of his life to saving the lives of others. In order to fully pursue his desire to help others, he began medical school in 2011. Through this journey, however, he finally discovered that his true passion lied in sales. He was an incredibly talented salesman and quickly rose up the ranks at TelePacific. His dedication to his job, his work ethic, and his charm were a deadly combination; he could sell anything to anyone. If he put his mind to it, he could even sell a vacuum to a woman with no carpet in her home. Aljoša was compassionate, loyal, reliable, and would drop whatever he was doing to help a friend, or a complete stranger in need. Aljoša cherished his friendships and was always grateful for the love, support, encouragement, and kindness of his family and friends, near and far.

A memorial service will be held to honor Aljoša's life at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 21 at Klein Funeral Home, 9719 Wortham Dr., Houston, Texas. Aljoša will be laid to rest following the service at Klein Memorial Park in Cypress, Texas.

In addition, the Memovic family would like to invite all of Aljoša's friends and loved ones to celebrate Aljoša's life following his burial at the Club House of The Retreat at Steeplechase, 11245 West Road, Houston, Texas around 5:00 pm on Saturday, May 21.
