Alice came into this world on January 1, 1941 in Tucson, Arizona, the daughter of Fred and Alice (Murtha) Latham. The family moved to Lake Jackson, Texas in 1943 where she grew up and attended school. She graduated from Brazosport High School. Alice was involved in the arts from an early age, from ballet and theater to visual arts. She attended the University of Texas and received a Bachelor of Arts in photography from Sam Houston State University.

Alice brought much joy by sharing her artistic ability. She enjoyed traveling and photography and lived a full and productive life. Alice was devoted to her family and friends, as well as her Catholic faith.

She is survived by her husband Fred Self, her daughter Anita Kief,  her sister Tish Latham, her grandchildren Daniel Hacker, Sasha Runnels and husband Nolan, Jere'my Gegenbach and wife Melissa, and six great-grandchildren.

It was Alice's desire that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research at michaeljfox.org
