Alfred Herbert Symmank

On March 15th, 1936 Herbert Alvin Symmank and Ester Ottillie D Pampell welcomed the arrival of Alfred Herbert Symmank in Lincoln, TX. He was brought to the Lord and made a child of God in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Texas on March 29th, 1936. He confessed his faith in the Lord Jesus in the Rite of Confirmation on April 1st, 1950 at St. Johns Lutheran Church.

On September 1, 1956, Alfred was joined in marriage to Ilda Amanda Kaiser at St. James Lutheran Church.  Alfred and Ilda were married for 57 years, bearing two children, Debra Annette and David Glenn Symmank.

Alfred spent his career in the construction industry building houses as a sheet rock contractor. He had the gift of music andhe most enjoyed playing his fiddle and guitar. In his younger years he played in several country and western bands as a fiddle player, entered fiddling contests and even played on live radio. He loved and took pride in his family and also enjoyed fishing,hunting and his Houston Astros.

On Friday, May 17th, 2024, at the age of 88, Alfred was calledhome to be with his Lord and Savior.

Alfred was preceded in death by his wife, Ilda Symmank, his daughter Debra Annette Landry, grandson Jeremy Allan Landry, and sister-in-law Mildred Symmank.

Alfred is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David and Jeanne Symmank, grandchildren Jessica and Thomas Del Castillo, Jacob and Tonya Landry, Stephanie and Greg Mullings, Kristen Symmank and Tyler Stahl, Brandon Symmank and great-grandchildren, Everett Landry, Brody, Brielle and StoneyMullings, Lucy and Josie Del Castillo and Tayten, Trever and Tessa Benefield. He is also survived by his brother Clarence Symmank, sister-in-law Lillie Mae Boettcher and brother-in-law Charles Kaiser and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Klein Funeral Home on Wortham Boulevard in Houston on May 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral will be at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 14423 West Road in Houston on May 29th at 11:00 am followed by a reception and then a procession to Memorial Oaks Cemetery on Eldridge at I-10 in Houston.

Pallbearers are: Greg Mullings, Brody Mullings, Thomas Del Castillo, Brandon Symmank, Jacob Landry and Tyler Stahl. Honorary Pallbearers include Clarence Symmank and Charles Kaiser.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Epiphany Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
