It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Bowen Pinkston on April 17, 2026, at the age of 32.

Bowen was a devoted husband to his beautiful wife Lyla, a proud father to his three precious sons August (3 ½ ), Shepherd (10 months), and Lochlan (10 months), a loyal brother and son. His personality was larger than life with a heart to match. Bowen was a humbled man who had a magnetic force that left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.

Bowen was born on June 15, 1993, in Elmira, New York, to Robert and Louise Pinkston. He grew up in Klein, Texas, where he formed many close friendships through the Spring Creek Oaks Swim Team and played various sports through Spring Klein Sports Association. From a young age, Bowen had a deep curiosity about the world and a strong passion for learning, often immersing himself in books. If Bowen did not have a book in his hand, he could be found exploring the neighborhood on his bike with friends or hanging out with his older brothers. Bowen enjoyed traveling and pursued many interests, including wakeboarding, snowboarding, mixed martial arts, Anime, studying history and marksmanship.

Bowen attended Klein High School, where he played football and was a member of the National Honor Society. He also served faithfully as an acolyte for St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church. He later, attended Texas A&M University, graduating in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. During his college years, Bowen spent two summers abroad volunteering in Jordan, where he became fluent in Arabic, an experience that reflected his compassion and love of understanding for other cultures.

Bowen went on to join the United States Army where he honorably served and attained the rank of Sergeant. During his service, he received numerous honors and awards, including the National Defense Service Medal, Parachutist Badge, Army Achievement Medal, Expert Marksmanship Badge, and other commendations recognizing his dedication and service. After being honorably and medically discharged in 2024, Bowen began a successful sales career with Power Home Remodeling, where he was honored with the Rookie of the Year Award. Most recently, he was excelling in his new position with Artificial Grass Pros.

Bowen's greatest accomplishment was his family. In 2021, he married the love of his life, Lyla. Together they shared many adventures, first moving to Fayetteville, North Carolina, where Bowen was stationed at Fort Bragg. In 2022, they welcomed their son, August, as they navigated the joy, challenges, and sacred beginnings of parenthood together, embracing every moment with love, patience, and gratitude. In 2024, they returned to Klein, Texas to begin a new chapter of life after Bowen's Army service, and in 2025, their family grew with the birth of twin sons, Shepherd and Lochlan. Being a husband and father of three was Bowen's greatest joy and a lifelong dream fulfilled. He was a loving, tender, and deeply present father who intentionally shared his wisdom, faith, and love of reading with his children through both everyday moments and life milestones.

Bowen was a man of faith with a profound passion for theology. Most recently, he was pursuing the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults within the Catholic Church, reflecting a deepening commitment to his spiritual life.

Above all, Bowen cherished his family. He is survived by his wife Lyla Green; their sons, August, Shepherd, and Lochlan; his parents Robert and Louise Pinkston; his brothers, Hoffman Pinkston and Wheeler Pinkston (Janie); his nephews and niece, James, Luke, and Claire Pinkston; his grandfather, William H. Wheeler Jr.; his parents-in-law, Kevin and Sonia Nunez; his sister-in-law Breanna Green; his nephew, Enzo; his sisters-in-law,  Jade and Ivana Nunez; his brothers- in-law, Micah Nunez (Megan) and Zach Green; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Conyers Pinkston III and Sarah Hoffman Pinkston, and his maternal grandmother, Lydia Dingwell Wheeler.
