Alexander Daniel Nehman Fodell, age 2, of Katy, Texas, gained his angel wings on April 22, 2026 surrounded by family. He was born on March 17, 2024 to Dylan and Ashley Fodell in Houston, Texas.

Since before birth, Alexander was dealt a difficult hand for his short little life. He had multiple obstacles every step of the way, but he proved time and time again just how determined and strong he was.

Before birth, he was given an extremely low chance of survival. He stressed his mom and dad out from inside the womb until 28 weeks, where he was then born at 1 pound and again given a low chance to make it even a week. This precious child survived multiple life-threatening obstacles. From having a brain hemorrhage at 2 months old, necrotizing enterocolitis three times, bowel disintegration at 6 months old, pulmonary hypertension, bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), threat of retinal detachment (retinopathy of prematurity) and requiring 24/7 monitoring. Even with all of these obstacles, Alex still had the biggest and most infectious smile ever seen.

He loved watching Ms. Rachel, Ms. Raven, Bluey, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, chewing on all of his toys, playing with his suction ballard by wrapping it around his foot and stretching his leg until it blew up like a balloon and tangling all of his tubes and cords. He didn't let anything stand in his way and he knew exactly how to get what he wanted. If you took your eyes off him for three seconds, he would spin himself around in circles until he was eventually stopped or he was tangled in all of his lines and couldn't move anymore. Then he would laugh as soon as he was caught. With one little pout face, everyone was putty in his hands. He had no fear in life, because he knew someone would always be there to catch him.

Alexander will forever be remembered and loved by his parents, Dylan and Ashley; his grandparents, Scott and Michelle Speetzen, Darryl and Kim Clark, Jr.; his aunts and uncles, Hunter and Morgan Speetzen, Cameron and McKenzie Clark, and Candice Clark; his cousins, Easton Buckley and Grayson Clark; his great-grandparents, Darryl and Mary Ann Clark, Sr., and a very large loving extended family. From his parents to his nurses and doctors, he was loved by every person that laid eyes on him.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Raymond Mahavier and his great-grandparents, Art and Pat Speetzen, George and Nina Fodell, Joan Fodell, and Victor and Beatrice Filip.

Alexander will forever be remembered for his bravery, perseverance, and his utterly pure and infectious smile that brought joy to all of those around him.

A private celebration of life will be held for family.
