Hal Yeager passed away peacefully at his home Monday evening, April 18, 2022.

Born on January 14, 1933, in Hamlin, West Virginia to Hal and Susie Yeager where he was raised amongst four siblings; Roy, Chuck, Pansy, and Doris.

He joined the United States Air Force and served our country patriotically. While stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi he met and married the love of his life Sandra. Soon after Hal and Sandra gave birth to their son Ron followed by their daughter Karen several years later. As their family grew with children, dogs, and love Hal began a career at Union Carbide based in West Virginia. Union Carbide eventually relocated the family to Houston, Texas where Hal loyally remained until retirement.

One word to describe Hal would be intentional, both as a great husband and father, but particularly as a grandfather. Lovingly known as Papa, he never missed a sporting event, birthday, or opportunity to tell his granddaughters how proud of them he was and how much he loved them. The same intentionality was felt by everyone in his life as he never met a stranger. Rare is an individual who walks into a room where you know they are there before you even turn around. That was Hal, he was pure magnetism and everyone who knew him felt it. Quick witted and full of Halism's laced with sarcasm to make everyone laugh.

Hal was an avid sportsman and loved to hunt and fish. His greatest love of the outdoors was going to the High Sierras for his annual backpacking trip with his brother Chuck, Bud Anderson, and various others to catch those beautiful golden trout. Thus, the last of a legendary family has now gone to his eternal fishing place.

Hal was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra, his son Ron and wife Marthie, daughter Karen and husband Ken, grandchildren Lauren, Ashley, Rebecca and husband Josh, Jacqueline, Jillian, Chris and wife Chelsea, Jessica and husband Jerrod, and great grandchildren Rylie, Kingston, and Jackson.

Hal was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Hal, Dad, Papa…you are not a memory. You are eternity, as the love you have given will echo long into generations to come. Thank you for loving us all so well.

Interment will be private.
