Albert Eugene (Al) Sullivan, Jr. passed away at the age of 71 after a long battle with lung disease after beating cancer.
He was born on October 29, 1948 in Whitehall, Arkansas to Ollie and Albert Sullivan, Sr. At a young age, Al and his family relocated to Dinuba, California, where he resided until he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1973.
After leaving the Army, Al was presented with the opportunity to start a new life in Texas, where he would meet the love of his life, LaJuana. They traveled the country for the next four years and eventually settled in Houston to start their family.
Al enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, watching his Dallas Cowboys, camping on the Nueces River, and attending NHRA drag racing events. He could be found doing any of his favorite activities with an ice cold Miller Lite in his hand and an American flag flying nearby.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 37 years, LaJuana Sullivan; children Tammy West and husband Randal, Jennifer Solis, Kevin Sullivan and wife Christina, and Kelsey Sullivan; grandchildren Tommy and Daniel Evans, Candace VanSickle, Angelina and Gabriel Sullivan, and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers Frank Sullivan and wife Sherri, Chuck Sullivan and wife Jan, Earl Sullivan, and James (Allen) Sullivan; sister Charlotte Avey and husband Jeff.
Al is preceded in death by mother Ollie Sullivan, father Albert Sullivan, Sr, brother Larry Sullivan, and sister Tennie Oergel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to assist with expenses.
