It is with great sadness that the immediate and extended family of Alan Williamson announce the passing of a beloved husband, great friend, and mentor who was and still is loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.     Alan went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.

The middle of three children, Alan was born in Anniston, Alabama on April 21, 1953 to Frank Powers Williamson and Mary Ann (Nail) Williamson. Alan attended and graduated from Magnolia High School in New Martinsville, West Virginia.  Alan completed his Bachelor's degree and graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.

Alan was preceded in death by his father, Frank Williamson and father-in-law, Bob Sprenger.

Alan is survived by his wife and best friend of 27 years, Cheryl Williamson; his mother, Mary Ann Williamson; sister, Ann Ferguson and her husband Norm; brother, Sam Williamson and his wife Cindy; mother-in-law, Donna Sprenger; three brother-in-laws, Rodney Sprenger, Glenn Sprenger and Bryan Sprenger and his wife Lisa and their daughter Nikkie; uncle, Lou Powers and his wife Ruth Nell; cousins, Lou Ann Davenport and her husband Steve and their children Blake and Matthew; cousins, Jamie Powers and his wife Ann and their children Rebecca, Melinda and Louie; cousins Cheryl Stillson and her husband Bryan and their children.

The Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church located at 15235 Spring Cypress, Cypress, TX 77429.

Alan was truly blessed with having an abundant life.   He was gifted with the intellect and ability to fix anything and tackle any project around the house or at work and make it look easy.   His obsession was to make whatever he was working on better.

Alan was a natural conversationalist, he could spend hours talking with friends, neighbors, or anyone he didn't even know. He gained a lot of valuable knowledge as well as sharing his knowledge with others.

Alan had a great passion for waterskiing which he learned as a teenager while living in Lakeland, Florida. This passion carried onto waterskiing on the Ohio River while navigating in and around the numerous barges that used the river at the same time.  Once in Houston, he carried this passion to Lake Conroe.   For 20 plus years he amazed people with his waterskiing and barefoot skiing abilities.

Of the many projects Alan enjoyed working on, it all started with a 1962 Corvette. When he purchased it in Dallas in the early 70s it was a shell of a car.  He then transformed it into a fun daily driver to use while attending Sam Houston State University.

Alan's love for the outdoors and gardening lead him to restore a 1953 John Deere Model 40T Tractor. He went on to partially restore a 1953 John Deere Model 50 Tractor and fully restore a John Deere Two Bottom Plow.   He attended many tractor shows across the country, but his favorite was the tractor ride in Fredericksburg, Texas every spring.

Alan's determination and drive made him successful in many ways.   He truly embraced life and had fun.  Alan loved his wife Cheryl and all his Golden Retrievers.   He will be deeply missed by his wife, family, and friends.
