Alan Clayton Laird, 64, of Tomball, TX passed away at his home surrounded by family with his hand in Annette's on September 14, 2023 after a three-year battle with melanoma cancer.  Alan was born June 9, 1959, to Clayton Laird, Jr. and Lois (Plummer) Laird, in Casper, Wyoming.  The Laird family moved to Houston, TX in 1962 where Alan attended local Elementary and Jr. High schools. Alan graduated from John Foster Dulles High School.

Alan attended Sam Houston State University where he met the love of his life, Annette Draszkiewicz. They were married on June 9, 1984 and recently celebrated their 39th anniversary. Alan retired from Aramark Refreshment Services in June 2021 after 16 years. Thank you to Ray Alderson for your friendship with Alan.   Alan never met a stranger and loved to tell stories. Those who knew him respected him as an honest, hard-working man devoted to Annette.  Alan loved to cruise, watch Nascar racing, talking with Ray, reading car magazines and football.  His beautiful smile and blue eyes will be greatly missed. Alan's devoted fur baby companions Spike and Max will miss him greatly.

Alan was preceded in death by his mother, Lois, his younger brother David, mother-in-law Dorothy Walkus and father-in-law Dan Walkus.

Alan is survived by his wife, Annette, father Clayton Laird, Jr., sisters Laura Laird and Lisa Cooper; brother-in-law, Frank Draszkiewicz and wife Jeorgette, sister-in-law Cindy Walkus, nephews Jacob Draszkiewicz and wife Holly,  Nick Draszkiewicz, Sam Walkus and Clayton Laird.  Nieces, Danni Schmidt, Elise Cooper, Christina Draszkiewicz, Kaitlyn Laird and Danyelle Senti and husband Sam. Great Neice, Amelia Draszkiewicz and Victoria Salas; Great nephews, Dominique Salas, Jeremiah Salas and Braylen Schmidt.

Annette would like to thank the Team at MD Anderson, Dr. Adi Diab, Dr. Thomas Beckham, Dr. Fiorinda Muhaj and everyone who took care of Alan during his treatments and hospital visits.

A memorial service will be held at Klein Funeral Home-Tomball (1400 W. Main Tomball, TX  77375) Friday, September 29th at 2:00 with family visitation starting at 1:00.
