Romeo DeSouza, age 80, of Houston, Texas, departed this world to be with our Lord on Sunday, October 31st, 2021. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Juliet, their son Anthony, daughter Sarah, and grandchildren Nathan and Haylee.
He was born in the Belgaum district of Karnataka in southern India in 1941. Romeo spent much of his childhood there before immigrating to the United Stated in 1976 with Juliet and 2-year-old Anthony. He supported the young family for a number of years by working entry level jobs in fast food before beginning a career at ExxonMobil in the Reprographics department. In 2007 he retired from ExxonMobil after almost 30 years of service.
Romeo was a steadfast provider for his family and was selfless in his desire to do anything to support them fully. A man of great faith, he always trusted in the Lord to see them through life's many challenges. He cherished time spent with his family and friends, for whom his love was unconditional. As an animal-lover, he had great affection for the cats that were part of the family over the years.
Later in life, Romeo busied himself working in the garden, traveling with the parish seniors' group, following Houston sports on television, and spoiling his grandkids. His involvement with the Knights of Columbus was also a great source of joy for him.
He was a caring and gentle man who put others' needs before his own.
We will miss him dearly.
