Adrienne Ruth Andros Ferguson, known to all as Dede, began her life in Lincoln, Nebraska on September 15th, 1951. She was the first of four girls born to Andrew Aristedes Andros and Martha Joan Olson, followed by Penelope, Julia, and Emily.

Dede showed promise in music and the arts from an early age. Her vocal talent became apparent in middle school when she became a featured school soloist and began winning talent shows. She capped off her high school era with a legendary performance of Funny Girl, which is luckily preserved on reel-to-reel tape. Dede also won the talent portion of the Miss Nebraska pageant during this time. She went on to study voice and violin at Wesleyan University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Nebraska.

Dede spent her 20's and 30's in Los Angeles, charming the rockstar elite of the time and leaving a lasting impression on the celebrity music scene. She had a Las Vegas nightclub act and recorded with major studio musicians of the era. Dede married Daniel Clary Ferguson in 1979 and soon gave birth to their children Alexandra Andros Ferguson and Zachary Jordan Ferguson. In the 1980's, she and her mother Joan started a business creating holiday wreaths and potpourri. This led to opening Au Marche, a popular retail shop in Beverly Hills for antiques and decorative items.

Dede moved to Houston in the spring of 1991 along with her children and mother. She and Joan grew their existing business into Bon Melange, a thriving enterprise that manufactured decorative accessories for luxury stores including Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Saks Fifth Avenue. She frequently traveled with her sister Julia, who ran an associated retail shop in Miami, to trade shows in New York, Atlanta, and beyond.

Dede had an infectious personality, charming people everywhere she went. She found humor in all the world had to offer, and used that humor to brighten the day of anyone she'd meet. Dede along with her mother was an avid gardener, tending the large back yard of their home in Spring, Texas and cultivating it into a lush paradise. She was a splendid cook and the entire extended family eagerly looked forward to her holiday meals. She was an enthusiastic mother figure to a great many people, from the friends of her children to her grandchildren, her nieces and nephews, and the children of her extended family.

Dede spent her life comforting and entertaining those around her, selflessly helping people enjoy their lives. She made her surroundings lovely, and took care of all things beautiful for her friends and family. Dede left us while doing what she loved most: thinking of and caring for others.
