Aaron John Turley, our beloved son, loyal brother, loving uncle and compassionate friend; went to be with God on the 10th of October 2017.

Aaron will be sorely missed by his family and friends and he will never be forgotten. He chose to be an organ donor and even in death chose to help others. Aaron was a loving and generous soul; he took great pleasure in assisting anyone in need. Aaron was born on December 24, 1985 and was always our family's greatest Christmas gift from God. We are heartbroken by his loss.

He was preceded in death by grandparents Leonita and Frank Ulman of Victoria; Olen and Ruth Turley; and his Uncle Phil Cowey of Cuero. He is survived by his large loving family including his parents' John and Sharon, his brothers and sisters, Matthew; Michael and Jodi; Adam and Stephanie; His Aunts and Uncles: Jim and Veronica Turley; Linda and Don Rasmussen; Ann Smith; Dianne Cowey; Bob and Laurie Ulman; Linda and Jim Parmigiano; and his loving cousins that include: the Parmigianos; the Ulmans; The Coweys; the Hollands; the Muschs; The Turleys; the Thurlkills, the Pattersons; the Bruces; the Smiths; the Overmans; the Drozds; the Dunns and a host of other special cousins and family.

Aaron loved laughing and joking with his brothers the most, especially when it involved talking trash about fantasy football. Those conversations will be greatly missed and cherished forever by his brothers and family. He also adored his young nieces Riley and Reese. He loved spending time spoiling them by going on buying sprees at Target. Aaron would have been a wonderful father and it is heartbreaking that Riley and Reese will not have Aaron in their life.

He had a very special relationship with his Grandmother Leonita.   When he was young, Aaron would stay with Leonita in Victoria and she would spoil him by cooking fried chicken and taking him to Putt Putt Golf whenever he wanted. They are now watching over all of us, together.

He also had a special relationship with his mother and father. His mother, Sharon would stay with him at his various military posts and cook his favorite meals for her "Soldier Boy". Aaron and Sharon were very much alike, and when he set a goal he was relentless in achieving it, much like his mother. Aaron's love for his mother was immeasurable.

Aaron admired his father and often told people that his dad, John, was his hero. They loved spending time at the shooting range together and enjoyed being in each other's company. Aaron truly loved his father and mother with all his heart. John and Sharon were proud of Aaron for his service to his country, for having a gentle heart, and most of all, for being a great son. Aaron followed in the footsteps of his Grandfathers and was an officer in the 1st Calvary Division. As a Platoon Leader for a Bradley Company deployed in the Middle East; looking out for his men was always top priority. He often said that being a Platoon Leader was the best job he ever had. He loved his men and his men loved and respected him. After an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, Aaron then went to work for W.R. Grace starting up chemical plants around the world. His Grace family was very important to him and he enjoyed his work and colleagues.

Aaron was a very special guy. He was a champion of the underdog and made a point of stopping and assisting people in need. He was very sentimental and family always came first. He loved Rockport, Texas and all of the 4th of July celebrations with his cousins and family. He loved the Army and serving his country. He chose the infantry as his Military Occupational Specialty and was Airborne qualified and an expert marksman. He served his country and family with honor and respect. The void created in our family by the loss of Aaron will never be completely filled. We will try and honor his memory by helping others in the community and fondly remembering him in our thoughts every day.

We would also like to thank the Young family for their unwavering love and support through this difficult period. A private memorial service is being planned.
