Mr. Jerry Avant passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at the age of 96.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Osa Avant, and Eva Aulds Avant, by his wife of 69 years, Gloria June Avant, by his brother Osa J. "Jack" Avant of Louisiana and his wife Virginia Anne, by his brother James Benjamin Avant and his wives Eunice Tanner Malone Avant and Dr. Julia King Avant, and by his sister- in-law Betty Jo Avant.

He is survived by his brother Roy D. Avant and wife Johnette of Louisiana; by his sons Robert Avant and wife Bethany and their children Tessa (and husband Matt), Corey, and Abby of Houston; Richard Avant and wife Heather and their sons Christopher and Donald of Houston; and Michael Avant and wife Virginia and children Walter (and wife Kelsey) Daniel (and wife Haley), Sarah, and Rebecca of Houston.

Jerry and Gloria have been members of Kinsmen Lutheran Church since 1977.  The services celebrating his life will be held at Kinsmen on September 11th at 2:00 pm.

Visitation will be September 10 ^th from 6-8 at Klein Funeral Home on Champions Forest Drive.

Flowers are of course welcome, but memorial contributions to Northwest Assistance Ministries or Kinsmen Lutheran Church are appreciated also.
